Anthony's guestion about the "term for when a line in a graph goes into an
area where it can no longer be graphed", may be referring to an extrapolation.
Anthony, you "extrapolate" a curve when you extend it beyond the points you
have actually plotted. Usually these points are the results of some experiment
or observations rather than the results of a mathematical calculation. The
extension of the curve is an "extrapolation".

But this has nothing to do with chaos, or at least nothing that I can see, so
maybe it's not what you need. Please tell us more or give us an example of such
a curve as you are asking about.
