The geometry of animals

I have a high school student who is interested in doing research on the shapes of animals, i have directed her to " On being the right size" but she is more interested in shape than size. Can anyone help me direct her to appropriate materials?
She is quite a talented student who reads well, but she is only 13 years old or so. We are thinkng about things like the shape of rabbit ears, fly eyes, bird wings and the like but are certainly willing to expand our horizons if there is interesting material out there somewhere.
Thanks in advance for your help.
