My fifth grade students began math class today by doing some Geometry
exercises. They loved it! We all stood and stretched our arms out side
to side pointing in both directions and said LINE. Keeping our arms
outstretched, we then clenched our fists and all said, LINE SEGMENT. Next
we clenched one fist and pointed with the other hand and said, RAY. We
continued these exercises by including and defining the terms; angle,
right angle, acute angle, obtuse angle, parallel lines, and intersecting
lines. The children take turns calling out the terms, while the others are
called upon to do the exercise and define the term.
