A question about prime numbers

The following ubasic program displays all the primes between 5 and 1000:

10 point 250
20 for x=5 to 1000
30 x1=1//x
40 n=1
50 a=ceil((n+1//x1)-1
60 if a-n-1=0 then 80
70 if ceil(n//(a-n-1))>=x then print x:goto 110:endif
80 x1=a*x1-n
90 n=n+1
100 if n<6*x then 50
110 next x

My question is: why?
