I just bought this one yesterday :

"Where Mathematics Comes From: How The Embodied Mind Brings Mathematics into

How could you resist that title... got a look at it in a local
bookstore, felt guilty about pushing all my $$$ to amazon so I bought it
there - review pending.

I also have a bunch of others on my wish list... Too many to buy (and read
!) so I'd be inerested in hearing other folks reviews of any of these :

"Number" - by Midhat Gazale :: looks like a good history of math with some
engaging mathematical content as well Bottom of Form 1

"Duelling Idiots and Other Probability Puzzlers" by Paul Nahin

"Conned Again, Watson!: Cautionary Tales of Logic, Math, and Probability" by
Colin Bruce

"The Math Gene : How Mathematical Thinking Evolved and Why Numbers are Like
Gossip " by Keith Devlin. ( How does this compare to "The Number Sense" and
"What Counts" - ?))
