With reference to the continuing discussion, consider the following from
today's NYTimes. If you do decide to go to the link and read the entire
article, please note that to the NYTimes "college" means four year degree
granting institution. CCs don't exist.

Colleges and universities are increasingly filled with untraditional
students. These graduates — ages 16, 23, 27, 32 and 36 — are among
the most extraordinary.
