Each Standard will include a description of key ideas, along with the developmental "trajectory" the ideas should take across the grades, given our current knowledge of studentsÃÂ learning. What are some of the key areas that should be emphasized? For example, could "number" be a major area that runs preK through 12, in light of the fact that there is no number topic in the current Standards for grades 9-12?
