Political correctness (PC) has become the sweet stick of the
powers that be (or maybe the carrot-and-stick ?)

What exactly are we talking about here ? What is PC ? Who
is PC ? Is there a consistent well formed formula for generating
it ? Can it be measured ? Seems that those forces traditionally
identified with the conservative right have chosen themselves to
become the spokesmen for this term. Who has given that right ?
The outreach power of corporate media ? Or is it the knee-jerk
response to the challanges WASP culture receives from a grow-
ing multiethnic America ? I'll let you decide. Until then we must
be sensitive to the power of language.

Al (whi wishes we lived in a world where PC simply ment personal
computer).
