Just a point of clarification: In responding to MCotton@aol.com, Mansel Nelson edited Ms. Cotton's original post and inadvertently attributed Ms. Cotton's comments to me. Since the post contained some language that offended at least one subscriber, I'd like to set the record straight. My original post addressed the availability of several NSF-supported, Standards-based, comprehensive mathematics curricula. In her response to my post, Ms. Cotton added the query a best fit lines that was the source of further discussion.
When responding to notes, it is great to edit the original post so that only the relevant portions are included in the reply. Please, however, try to make sure that your edits are clearly indicated and that you have not altered the content of the original post. By editing out the first paragraph of Ms. Cotton's post, Mr. Nelson gave the false impression that the remainder of the post was from me.
