What planet did you come from? Most of the ed students I know spent their
time working, studying & caring for families. Few of them had the finances to
go out drinking every night. The exceptions I knew were a few of the grad
students in the physics department who were not likely to make it to their
second year let alone pass their comps.
The ed classes I had - although few were particularily stimulating - required
large amounts of busy work and a large investment of time. The students who
slept through class didn't have high enough GPA's to be permitted to student
teach.
Personally, I would prefer the cane fields to school if I could get a
teaching job at the end of four years.
