Dear Colleagues,

Can we move on to topics other than cooperative learning,
coaches (which has really been inappropriate on this list) and
lecturing? It appears to me that there are posters who either
favor such or don't. It doesn't appear that there is much
meeting of the minds. Actually, I think that we've had the
issues hashed and re-hashed enough. Those who are going to
lecture are going to continue. Those who are convinced that
cooperative learning is the way to go will continue.

I am a
little dismayed that I haven't heard much to indicate that
those using either are using it because it best fits the
learning styles and development level of the students. Maybe,
I'm wrong but I get the feeling that some are motivited by
convenience for themselves. Oh, well.

What's your best fraction manipulative? My favorite all
purpose manipulative is the Tangram.
