I am writting from the Education Development Center in Newton Massachusetts,
conducting research on the learning and teaching of precalculus mathematics. For
the purposes of our research we need to investigate the content of different
precalculus courses.
Thus, if you have taught precalculus during the past few years, either in
high school or in college, or you have been involved in some relevant researh,
we would greatly appreciate some information.
We are interested to know the following:
* What topics do you include in your precalculus classes
* In what order do you teach these topics and how much emphasis do you put
on each
* What do you consider to be the most important concepts in precalculus
* What texts are you currently using.
Please send your replies directly to me and not back to the list since I am
not on the NCTM list.
Thank you for your time and help.
