TANGRAMS WEB UNIT - TOM SCAVO

Tangrams help develop spatial-visualization skills, and may also be used to introduce or reinforce geometric concepts such as congruency, similarity, and symmetry. This unit for grades 4-6 uses tangrams to find the areas of polygons without employing formulas. Students construct their own tangrams, find the areas, and learn to calculate the area of any polygon made from tangrams.
