Hi everyone,

Even though I am by nature a lurker, I wanted to respond to Esther's question.

Yes, our list is not for kids. Yes, they can post, and maybe better, on other lists. But if they ask a question that benefits our learning as well as theirs, why not?

Looking at it somewhat less selfishly, we would hope to be mentors to math learners so that they won't need remediation as adults. By allowing them to share in a discussion, we all profit.

But questions such as the Order of Operations questions, I think would be better not answered by us or any other list. The goal was to learn by creating an answer not by copying someone else's creation.
