Why doesn't this matrix get evaluated?

On Maple V r4 try the following:

> a:=array([[2,0],[0,3]]);
> with(linalg):
> b:=exponential(a,t);
> t:=0;
> evalm(b);


Instead of evaluating b with the value of t as 0
it displays it with the t as undefined.
Why?
