I have a few questions related to generating VRML files using Maple and Matlab and shall be very grateful if somebody can provide any useful hints.
Maple - VRML
According to Maple's help page, "Maple to VRML convertor" works only with Maple files that use "plot" and "plot3d" functions. However, we found that Maple's VRML convertor SOMETIMES can work with other Maple plotting functions such as plots[display], draw, polygonplot3d, display3d, display, plot_knot, and geom3d.
Would anybody know in what cases we can use plotting functions other than plot and plot3d (i.e. why is that these functions work SOMETIMES). Also, which plotting functions (in addition to plot and plot3d) can work with "Maple to VRML convertor"? For example, is there a way to convert the graphics generated by Maple's DEplot3d() to VRML?
1. How do we modify an original Matlab code (.m file) that involves "several" plot functions (say, 3 mesh()) to generate a VRML file? It seems to us that, since the output file name of VRMLplot() is always out.wrl, the VRML due to the previous plot function gets overwritten by the new out.wrl that is generated by the current plot function. As a result, we will always see "partial" structure (i.e., the structure that was generated by the LAST VRMLplot() in the source file).
2. Is there any trick to make .m as the parameter to Matlab's VRMLplot()? For example, say one has Matlab code for generating a 3D Mandelbrot set. Could the graphics it generates be converted to VRML using the VRMLplot()?
