Signs of Our Time?

The Sunday, March 14, 1999, edition of The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch had six
main
headlines on the front page:

* Three about sports: Athletes and gambling, men's NCAA basketball, and
women's NCAA basketball. (Also a large color photo.)
* One about Internal Revenue Service reform.
* One about more money for Ohio prisons.
* One about more money for Ohio education.

Interestingly, there was a call for 17% increase for funding prisons and a 13%
increase for funding education.
