Denver Teachers Link Pay to Kids' Performance

DENVER -- Denver's teachers union yesterday approved the first plan in
the nation to tie teachers' pay raises to how well the students in their
own classrooms perform.

The two-year pilot program, proposed by the union, will involve only a
small group of volunteers. But at the end of the two years, a decision will
be made on whether to expand the program to all teachers.
