I believe in today's schools teachers are giving the students the
ability to know how to do problems, not how and why. As a college
student I am suffering the effects of this teaching. Being spoonfed
in school, and yes even in some college classes, I am loss in the
classes where I have to "think" for my self. I believe that students
should start early learning math abstractly and thinking more
critically about math. If students learn early how to analyze
problems, then they will not have to struggle and be discourage like I
am everyday.
