New Problem of the Week Schedule
Posted:
Feb 21, 2002 2:56 PM

At the suggestion of some of our users, we are going to start staggering our Problem of the Week Projects. This is maily so that students who are participating in more than one problem will have something new to do each week. We'll start this by posting new Geometry and Discrete Math PoWs this coming Monday (February 25). Eventually the Middle School, Geometry, and Discrete Math PoWs will be grouped together, as will the Elementary, Algebra, and Calculus PoWs.
I've included our current posting schedule for the rest of this academic year. You can always see the updated schedule by viewing the calendar for each service (the link is available from the main page for each project). Problems that are followed by "Mentored" will have groups mentoring and our goal is that all submitters will receive an answer. Submissions to all other problems _may_ receive a reply, but we cannot guarantee it. All Geometry and Algebra problems will be in our "new" format, which includes hints, ways for students to check their answers, and solutions to which students can compare their own. All Middle School problems _except_ those marked "Mentored" are also in our new format.
We'll soon be making available more information about how you and your students might best take advantage of the new format. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or, even better, post them to this list.
