My grandmother took this picture when she visited me in 1994. I'm in
Napoleon's French Bakery in St. Paul, MN. I know the picture captures the
very essence of spontaneity, but in truth I must have held this pose for a
good ten seconds waiting for her to press the button.

This is my friend Emily. About the time I took this picture, I realized
that all my friends shared my affinity for making faces when presented with
a faceful of camera.

This is Sony, who was my *girlfriend*. She pretty much looks like this all
the time. Just kidding.

Jesse is a great friend of mine. He's the drummer in my band, and we
often get together to slog through Bach 2-part inventions on the piano
(one part each). The reason he looks so happy in this picture is that
it's his birthday.

This is Katie Menzer and I in the Crum Regatta. We won! Just kidding. But
I bet we clocked the best time ever for a Crum craft made of two plastic
kiddie pools and two inflatable ones. It's as much fun as it looks.

What's fun is when your toilet explodes.
