Both square yards amd square feet are units of AREA measure.  
If you draw a square one yard on a side and then divide each side 
of the square into three parts (into feet), you can easily see that
1 square yard is the same area as 9 square feet.  

1 sq. yd. = 9 sq. ft. 

	
     1 Yard
   ----------
   |  |  |  |
   ----------
   |  |  |  |    1 Yard       From this, you see that there are 9
   ----------                 square feet in 1 square yard.
   |  |  |  |
   ----------


So your problem becomes

 57.33 sq yd = 9 x 57.33 sq ft = 515.97 sq ft.
