How many square inches are in ten square feet?

You know that there are 12 inches in 1 foot. Make a square 1 foot
on a side. Divide each side into twelve parts, each one inch long.
Connect them up with lines parallel to the sides. You end up with
something that looks a little like a checkerboard.

How many squares of side 1 inch are there? That is the number of
square inches in a square foot. Now how many square inches would
there be in ten of these square feet?
