The vertex is the point at which two rays of an angle or two edges of 
a polygon meet.

            /  The vertex is the point about which the angle is 
           /   measured.

The plural of vertex is vertices.  


             vertex
               /\
              /  \
             /    \
            /      \
           /        \
   vertex /__________\ vertex


A triangle has three vertices.
