Nanoseconds in a YearDate: 8/29/96 at 13:34:26 From: Anonymous Subject: Converting Units of Measure How many nanoseconds are there in one year? First I found out how many seconds were in a year, then I tried to figure how many nanoseconds were in a second. I know it's simple, but I am stuck. If you know how many nanoseconds are in a second and how many seconds are in a year, here's what you need to do: nanoseconds seconds nanoseconds ----------- * -------- = ------------ second year year Hope this helps! -Doctor Jodi, The Math Forum Check out our web site! http://mathforum.org/dr.math/ Date: 8/29/96 at 14:18:1 From: Lee Norfleet Subject: Re: Converting Units of Measure Thanks for replying so soon, but the problem is I don't know how many nanoseconds are in 1 second. A nanoseconds is 10 to -9 but how do you figure out the correct power of ten? Date: 8/30/96 at 19:14:27 From: Doctor Tom Subject: Re: Converting Units of Measure There are "10 to the ninth" nanoseconds in a second. This is 1000000000 (1 followed by 9 zeroes). A nanosecond is a very short amount of time. -Doctor Tom, The Math Forum Check out our web site! http://mathforum.org/dr.math/ |
