  1. GirlTECH - Cynthia Lanius; Center for Research on Parallel Computation (CRPC)
    GirlTECH was a teacher training and student council program that encouraged young women to pursue careers in mathematics and science, offering intensive technology training to explore innovative teaching strategies for gender equity in the classroom through a training period at The Rice School and Rice University in Houston, Texas. GirlTECH lesson plans were designed by participating teachers to take full advantage of Internet resources and teach standard concepts in mathematics and sciences in new and exciting ways.   3. The Mathematics of Change - 1993 Woodrow Wilson Leadership Program in Mathematics
    Activities presented at a 1993 conference focused on change and reform, with notes on the type of technology represented and the level for which each is intended. more>>

  4. Resource Room (Math Central) - University of Regina, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
    French version: Centre de ressources. A service of Math Central that allows mathematics educators to share resources having to do with math teaching. Submissions are stored in a database that can be browsed by educational level and curriculum strand, or searched by keyword. Also: mathematics glossaries, sites of particular interest to Saskatchewan teachers, and a CyberBibliography. Elementary, middle, and secondary level strands include: algebra, calculus, data management and analysis/consumer mathematics; equations and problem solving; functions; general; geometry; math history; measurement; numbers and operations; problem solving; ratio and proportion; subject integration; and trigonometry. more>>

  5. Secondary Math Units - Margaret Sinclair
    Units for grades 9-12. For grades 9-10: Data Collecting in the Classroom, Algebraic Problem-solving using Spreadsheets (a unit that emphasizes moving from numerical to symbolic representation), and a newspaper review unit on the Skydome. For grades 11-12: Three Days in the Lab (Sketchpad assignments for seniors when lab time is short); Linear Transformations using Spreadsheets; Show and Tell for Big Kids (investigating math using computers when you have limited lab time); and Investigating Functions Using Spreadsheets (with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel). more>>

  6. Shodor Education Foundation, Inc.
    A non-profit research and education organization dedicated to the advancement of science and math education, specifically through the use of modeling and simulation technologies. Interactive middle school lessons aligned with curricula are available through Shodor's Project Interactivate. For interactive models and curricular materials, the Foundation offers its MASTER: Modeling and Simulation Tools for Education Reform resources, including a galaxy simulation, simulated annealing, biomedical and environmental models, and a simulation of Edgar Allen Poe's "Pit and the Pendulum." Also available are summer and Saturday programs and workshops for kids; professional development opportunities through the Shodor Computational Science Institute; and an online Braille instruction program. more>>
