|The Institute's mandate includes programs devoted to leading-edge research in the mathematical sciences, advancement in mathematics education, enhanced graduate and post-doctoral training opportunities, and developing partnerships with industry to encourage technology transfer. The Institute supports research in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, and at the interface of mathematics with a broad spectrum of other disciplines including engineering, mathematical biology, theoretical physics, economics and mathematical finance, telecommunications, and medicine.
