| The group works with a number of common beliefs, primary among them the idea that the best way to teach is to determine what the student already knows, and then to teach from there. They believe that teaching and learning grounded in a coherent theory of education has the best chance of improving education for everyone, and generally advocate theory-driven, rather than method-driven educational research.
