Description: Research into sandpiles in graphs, related to previous research by others in several areas including include sandpiles in grids and chip-firing games; also sandpile rules as algorithms for information dissemination problems. An application of cellular automata: early research in sandpiles was aimed at investigating the behavior of real world sandpiles using computer simulation. Similar types of models have been used in a wide range of applications such as weather prediction, earthquake prediction, etc.
