| A challenge for U.S. students age 13 through grade 12. The purpose of the contest is to provide middle school and high school students with a realistic, engaging introduction to engineering. Learn about how engineers use the computer as a problem-solving tool, about truss bridges and how they work, about engineering through a realistic, hands-on problem-solving experience, and about the engineering design process -- the application of math, science, and technology to create devices and systems that meet human needs. Download chapters from the book Designing and Building File-Folder Bridges: A Problem-Based Introduction to Engineering; enter the contest; find rules, schedules, and prize information. | |
