Description: Prof. Kuo's research group is devoted to theoretical issues and practical applications of multimedia information processing, including image, video, graphics, audio and speech signals. Research projects cover multimedia information compression, communication and management. Three big subgroups: interactive media computing, multimedia information access, media delivery and networking, are working on high performance multimedia codec design, and multimedia database management and multimedia information communication, respectively. The work contributes to international standard JPEG2000, MPEG-4, MPEG-7, H.263++.
