| Oware is an winning numbers game, learned in a few minutes, that may take years to master. Downloadable freeware version, for Windows. Oware is more commonly called Wari in much of West Africa and where it is played in the New World. It is one of a large family of games called Mancala. It is designed for both children and adults. It provides challenging levels of opposition which take skill, consideration and foresight to overcome. Ancestral forms of the game go back to the New Kingdom in Egypt, about 1500 bc, and it and related games are played wherever there are people of African ancestry or where the Islamic faith is prominent. | |
