|The Calculus Consortium, based at Harvard University and funded by NSF, produced textbooks such as Functions Modeling Change, Applied Calculus, Calculus: Single Variable, Multivariable Calculus, and the Calculus Live CD-ROM. These textbooks focus on calculus students learning to do conceptual problems as well as computations. Guiding principles include problem-driven presentation of topics geometrically, numerically, analytically, and verbally ("rule of four"), where those problems are open-ended real world applications written in plain English. Read tables of contents and brief descriptions of the textbooks, and find references for ancillary materials. Also, read archived "Focus on Calculus" newsletters, further information, related sites.|
