Description: This exercise maps numbers into simple pitches. The numbers are derived from the portion of the Mandelbrot set seen here. The sound files are simple illustrations of data sonification. Imagine a microphone moved across a scan line of the image. Each picture element (pixel) on the image has a numeric value. As a line of pixels on the image is scanned, the numeric value of each pixel is mapped sequentially into a set of pitches.
