| A non-profit Oregon-based educational organization that develops and publishes curriculum materials, provides continuing education for teachers, consults with educational agencies, and provides opportunities for parents and others to become knowledgeable about alternatives in mathematics education. Products and services include publications and teaching supplies (books, manipulatives). Materials are typically teaching guides designed for sensory-rich, highly interactive, textbook-free classroom settings, stressing visual thinking entailing the use of models, sketches and other graphic representations. Curricula include Bridges in Mathematics; Algebra Through Visual Patterns; Opening Eyes to Mathematics; Visual Math and Math Alive!; Number Corner; Box It or Bag It Mathematics; and Story Boxes. Conferences, seminars, and workshops are listed, and a searchable catalog is provided. | |
