Gutbezahl's dissertation focused on how attributions for success and failure in mathematics affect how well students do in math class: "How Negative Expectancies and Attitudes Undermine Females' Math Confidence and Performance: A Review of the Literature"; "Mathematics performance and underperformance: Effects of gender and confidence"; and a poster presentation, entitled "Women have little confidence in their math ability."|
