| A report on the experiences of two sets of scholarly publications, the Canadian Mathematical Society and the Canadian Journal of Communication, during their adoption and deployment of new electronic media, drawing on the authors' first-hand experience in creating these journals and providing insight into the technical, commercial, administrative, and scholarly implications of such a move. The paper concludes with a discussion of a paradox in the move to electronic publication and of a possible direction to watch for solutions. By Jonathan Borwein (CECM) and Richard Smith (CPROST), Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada. | |
