Description: ITCEP develops and administers educational programs in mathematics and its related science and engineering applications for pre-college, undergraduate and graduate students, and for K-12 preservice/inservice teachers. For children, ITCEP administers the University of Minnesota Talented Youth Mathematics Program (UMTYMP), Saturday morning enrichment programs, and summer enrichment programs, which provide mathematically promising K-12 students with opportunities to learn and enjoy mathematics and introduce them to the role of mathematics in society through meeting and working with scientists, engineers, and mathematicians. Kids' University programs include MicroWorlds, Orienteering, Math in Motion, Geometric Art, Gear It Up, Numeric Patterns, Function Junction, Prove It! and Go Figure! ITCEP also organizes two programs for teachers: a Masters degree in Mathematics and Mathematics Education; and Mathematics Within, a professional development program for in-service teachers.
