|Easy-to-understand math projects for students to do by themselves or with adult direction. Triangle investigations of the perspectives of the 3D video games Star Fleet Academy, Quake II, and Sub Culture Submarine Adventure. "Quadrant projects" involve exploration of the outside world: measure the height of a building or tree, the altitude of clouds, or the height of a model rocket's flight; triangulate the distance across a river; do quadrant explorations in central Florida. All projects list materials needed and offer illustrated plans. The site also includes a brief biography of Ptolemy, and Properties of Triangles pages that elaborate on the tangent ratio and give a table of tangent values.|
