|Want to design, build, and fly model rockets? The first of these rocket contests was advertised as a one-off celebration of the 2002 Centennial of Flight; but the enthusiasm about the event was so great that its sponsors, the AIA and the NAR, were asked to hold the contest annually. Since then, approximately 7,000 students from across the nation have competed in TARC each year. NASA invites TARC finalists to participate in the Student Launch Initiative, an advanced rocketry program.|
