| The cartoon kids, Mateo y Cientina, present family-friendly, hands-on activities that help: adults and children alike to overcome their fear of math and science; encourage families to spend time on subjects important to academic achievement; introduce families to local resources that support our mission. Thirty cartoons featuring Mateo and Cientina offer experiments and activities for kids 7-10 and their families. The site includes resources and ideas for families and teachers. Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley teamed with New America Media, a network of ethnic media, and with the Children's Museum of Houston and the Miami Science Museum, with funding from the National Institute of Science, to develop this project. | |
