| Wanda McDowell | |
| Founded by a middle school teacher in Florida to "share best practices and provide free and low cost resources like budget effective activities, incentives, math centers, and classroom management strategies." McDowell's site also provides middle school students with free tutoring and homework help via its forum, virtual whiteboard, and chat function. "Cool tools" find areas of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles given base and height measurements; determine area or circumference of a circle from its radius; calculate the volume of a cylinder; figure out distances, speeds, and times, and convert them across several different units; show if a given number is odd or even and what its factors are; provide the graphing formula, slope, y-intercept, and formulas for parallel and perpendicular lines given X-Y coordinates; and more. The mathconcentration.com community blog dates back to September, 2010. | |
