| The Mathematics Teacher Education Partnership (MTEP) seeks to significantly increase the effectiveness of secondary mathematics teacher candidates, to ensure that candidates can promote mathematical excellence in their future students, leading to college and career readiness. In particular, it aims to prepare high-quality secondary mathematics teachers who are ready to teach the new, more rigorous Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSS). A project of the Science and Mathematics Teacher Imperative commission of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, MTEP receives funding in part from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
