| Mathematics of Planet Earth (MPE) "provides a platform to showcase the essential relevance of mathematics to planetary problems, coalesces activities currently dispersed among institutions, and creates a context for mathematical and interdisciplinary developments that will be necessary in order to address myriad issues and meet global challenges in the future." Partners and projects include teacher associations, research centers, institutes, scientific journals, international bodies, societies, and public organizations. MPE is made possible with the support of the International Mathematical Union (IMU), the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) and the International Council of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM). | |
