| Establishing a "professional system for the training of teachers" through "a common curriculum for professional training that focuses on high-leverage practices and on the subject-matter knowledge needed for teaching; performance assessments of teachers' readiness; supporting the learning of those who teach, coach, and mentor teachers; and making available information and data about teaching and ways to support the development of skillful instructional practice." The organization runs a streaming seminar series as well as elementary mathematics laboratory class sessions, often taught by TeachingWorks' director Deborah Loewenberg Ball, dean of the University of Michigan School of Education.
