The index pages at this site are organized according to the Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC) scheme. (This is the scheme developed by the American Mathematical Society and Zentralblatt für Mathematik.) General headings include Foundations; (Abstract) Algebra and Number Theory; Geometry and Topology; and Mathematical Analysis; with subcategories within each heading that offer short articles introducing the subject areas of modern mathematics, describing a few of the milestone results and topics, and giving pointers to some of the key resources where further information is to be found.
