Author:University of Colorado
Description: Dozens of free interactive, research-based simulations of mathematical phenomena, from arithmetic, estimation, graphing lines, and Plinko probability, to projectile motion, wave on a string, Fourier (making waves), and blackbody spectrum. PhET's Java and Flash simulations "animate what is invisible to the eye through the use of graphics and intuitive controls such as click-and-drag manipulation, sliders and radio buttons," and further encourage quantitative experimentation with rulers, stop-watches, voltmeters, thermometers, and other measurement instruments.

Levels: Late Elem. (3-5), Middle School (6-8), High School (9-12)
Languages: English
Resource Types: Simulations, Net-Based Resources, Web Interactive/Java
Math Topics: Basic Algebra, Fourier Analysis/Wavelets, Basic Operations, Estimation, Fractions/Decimals/Percents, Measurement, Patterns/Relationships, Discrete Math, Pre-Calculus, Probability, Statistics, Sciences
