Description: A computer program to calculate the position of the sun, with an article describing the calculation of the apparent sun position in local coordinates for an earth observer: notation; solution; removing the effect of one variable and simplifying the solution; qualitative descriptions of solar motion; conversion of these variables to local time; the length of a day; and the amount of sunlight falling (i.e. energy gain).
