|Researching cognitive development and function on problem solving behaviors, with special interest in "the development of numeracy skills, how those and other cognitive skills interact to affect and predict long term mathematics achievement outcomes, and how pathways to mathematical learning differ across students progressing at very different achievement levels." Research includes Math Skills Development Projects (MSDP) for Minnesota and Maryland; publications that span mathematical learning difficulties, Turner syndrome, fragile X syndrome, Barth syndrome, and Neurofibromatosis Type 1 have appeared in Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, Journal of Learning Disabilities, Journal of Pediatrics, Brain and Cognition, Annals of Dyslexia, Nature, Frontiers in Developmental Psychology, and others.|
