Research as well as "things for nonspecialists" by a mathematician "keen to bring mathematics to a wider audience and help reduce maths phobia." Articles by the author of HigherDimensional Categories: An Illustrated Guide Book and Cakes, Custard and Category Theory include "Build your own 5associahedron," "Make your own EckmannHilton clock," "How to write proofs: a quick guide," and "Is mathematics easy?" and "Are lectures a waste of time?" In her YouTube chalkboard lectures, the category theorist often makes analogies to food and cooking. Cheng serves the University of Sheffield as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Statistics.
